What TidyCrop is
TidyCrop is a free, browser-based photo utility for tasks that need precise dimensions: ID-style and profile photos, upload-size limits, format changes, and print-sheet layouts. No account or install is required.
How it works
When you choose a photo, your browser reads the file locally. Cropping, resizing, compression, conversion, and print-sheet rendering use standard web APIs (including the Canvas API and a local Web Worker). Exported files are saved through your browser's download mechanism — nothing is sent to TidyCrop for processing.

What TidyCrop is not
- Not an official passport, visa, DMV, school, or employer photo service
- Not a cloud editor — there is no account and no photo storage on TidyCrop servers
- Not a batch studio — one photo at a time, JPG/PNG/WebP only (no HEIC yet)
- Not a guarantee of acceptance by any portal, print shop, or agency
Guides and presets exist to help you match common instructions. Always confirm the size, format, and file-size rules on your form before you submit.
Privacy model
Your photos stay on your device. TidyCrop does not upload, store, or receive your image files on its servers. There is no sign-up, and photo data lives only in your browser session until you download an export or close the tab.
Site requests
Loading TidyCrop may involve ordinary network requests — for example, to fetch the site's HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and self-hosted Inter font files from hosting. Those requests are separate from your photo-editing work, which stays local in the browser. Google AdSense may make additional advertising requests as described in the Privacy Policy.
Editorial approach
Our Guides explain how TidyCrop's tools behave and how people commonly prepare photos for forms and uploads. We update guides when the product changes. We do not invent official agency rules or claim third-party certification.
Free service and advertising
TidyCrop is free to use. To help keep it available, we display third-party advertisements through Google AdSense on selected content pages. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies as described in our Privacy Policy. Your photo files are never shared with advertisers. Ads are not placed inside the editor controls.
